Alternatively, you can check the status of your North Carolina State tax refund by calling 1-877-252-4052. Lines are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

To determine the status of your refund for the current tax year 2008, you will need:

  • The first social security number shown on the return
  • The exact amount of refund shown on your return (D-400 Line 29)
